Merry Christmas from the Glove Guru

All of the Santa’s across the country are stocked up with White Gloves and our staff is doing their best to fill their sleighs with those glove stocking stuffers.

Actually, the local Santa came by last week to make sure all was going well. He needed a fresh supply of gloves and it always great to see him again.

Merry Christmas

Winter Gloves are hot!

Gloves have always been the ideal stocking stuffer. After all, it is Winter.

This season our glove sales have been exceptional again. Maybe it’s the weather; maybe the economy is improving but one thing is for real; Winter Gloves are HOT! In fact, we are running out of models well before previous years.

Here’s a few links to help you find the perfect winter glove or gift. And remember, this is the last week for Standard Shipping.

Winter Survival Gloves: Texting Gloves

We are going into our 3rd Winter selling season with the Freehand Gloves  and they are simply genius. You well know that taking your gloves off to text while outside is pure torture – and totally unnecessary.

That’s why Freehands gloves are perfect. You can choose from several models including leather and the gloves feature finger caps on your index finger and thumb, which you can flip back when your need to access your phone.

Your can always consider convertible mittens but the Freehands Gloves are more functional for texting while using your smart phone.

Why not check out our Winter Gloves while your browsing.

Glove guys know best…

This week I had the pleasure to meet another Glove Guru who represents one of the best glove companies in the world. (No pun intended for those in the know)

As with any good glove business guy who wants to establish a rapport, he followed up with an e-mail (nice touch).

I found it interesting that his e-mail signature contained some very useful information.

FACT: Each hand contains: 29 major and minor bones, 29 major joints, at least 123 named ligaments, 34 muscles which move the fingers and thumb, 48 nerves and 30 named arteries. Those facts put a whole new perspective on what our products are actually protecting…

I’ve since invited him for lunch when he is in the area again and I’ll make sure he adds cut protection and heat protection issues to his agenda. He knows best, but he is also helping raising the bar with hand protection issues.

In the meantime, you can check out our Glove University. We call it GO U.

Six Degrees of Hand Vibration

Protecting our hands from vibrations is important since it causes HAVS (Hand – Arm Vibration Syndrome).

I’ve discussed this before and a recent article in OHS (Occupational Health and Safety) discusses some solutions.(You can click on the title of this post to go to the article)

We also offer special Anti-Vibration Gloves.

GO Gloves receives top award from Amazon.com

I am very pleased to announce that last Friday the 29th; GO Gloves received the prestigious award as a “Top Holiday Seller in 2009” from the management of Amazon.com.

The award certificate states that we were honored for outstanding performance on Amazon.com over the 2009 Holiday Season. We were praised for providing an exceptional shopping experience for Amazon customers and thanked us for our hard work and dedication.

Additionally, GO Gloves ranked among the top of all Amazon Sellers over the 2009 season on the basis of net sales, and customer satisfaction metrics. We also received the highest marks (in other words A+) over this period.

Amazon isn’t the only one happy with our holiday gloves sales. They should have seen what our staff accomplished from our own web site shipping about 2,000 glove orders per day. Some glove traditions never change

And GO Gloves has managed to help with hard-to-find White Gloves for the last 15 years.

As a matter of fact, White Gloves were our first major glove line on our web site back in 1996. (To put that in perspective that was 2 years before Google’s beta version.) Today, our White Glove program remains our largest product line by far and we estimate that we are the largest supplier of white glove in North America.

Besides providing gloves to doormen (see article) around the world, we have many types of white glove styles for any occasion or event. For all age groups, too. Check them out for yourself.

Biodegradable plastics and bamboo are hot trends for gloves, too.

This week Design Week featured and article about biodegradable plastics and bamboo being hot trends.

With our biodegradable packaging initiative and our GO Greens® Bamboo Gloves introduction in 2009 tells me we are headed in the right direction for the next decade. I hope you agree.

Christmas was all about the love of Gloves

I’m sorry for my absence here but all I can say is WOW. Our Holiday sales were overwhelming and we literally worked around the clock through December processing glove orders. We thank all of you for your support and your business.

FYI: Demand for our Freehands cell-phone gloves was amazing and we completely depleted the manufacturer’s inventory.

Another success story was the Caiman Deerskin Gloves. (pictured) Besides making them in Men’s, Women’s, and children sizes, they are popular due to their warmth and comfort. My hat goes off to the guys at Caiman since they allow us to sell them to you at a great price, too. You also need to check out the other Caiman glove models.

I could say more but I’m just happy to be back here and feel fortunate and grateful for your support.

In my next posts, I’m thinking about talking about trends I’m seeing in glove technology and glove products. Looks to me like another interesting year in Gloves.

Happy New Year, The Glove Guru
